One small step. One steady day. One bright life.

Hey there,

My emails have been getting so much love lately—and it means the world to me. Thank you for helping me shape this space, week by week, into something that feels like us.

This week, I want to talk about perseverance, consistency, and the quiet determination it takes to keep learning and getting better.

It’s not always loud.
It’s not always glamorous.

Sometimes, it looks like reworking a page for the fifth time,
filming a packing video in your living room,
or flossing your teeth at night because you said you would.

That’s been my week.

I filmed myself packing the first Burn Bright, Not Out + Illuminate Journal bundles—you can watch it here on LinkedIn or Instagram. Be sure to follow me if you aren't already! It felt like honoring every tiny decision that brought me here:

Every moment I chose to show up.
Every lesson I let shape me.
Every small act of care I didn’t think mattered—but did.

It reminded me that the little things are the big things.
That progress is often quiet.

And that the habits we return to—especially the gentle ones—build our foundation.

So this week, I invite you to check in with yourself:

1️⃣ Write down one habit—mental, emotional, financial, or physical—that supports your well-being.

2️⃣ Name the next small step you could take to keep that habit going.

3️⃣ Celebrate one thing you’ve done recently that shows you’re still in it. (Because you are.)

Keep learning.
Feel the lows.
Celebrate the highs.
Connect with others.
And keep showing up—for yourself, your growth, and your dreams.

Have a great rest of the week, friends!

With love,
Sybil

Hey there, There’s this thing my husband and I do that I used to dread. I’d avoid it. Brush it off. Not ever bring it up. It wasn’t a blowout or a financial emergency. It was a quiet moment, years ago, in our tiny Shanghai apartment—just the two of us sitting on the bed, realizing we were making big life decisions together… without ever really talking about money. We didn’t have a financial vision, even though it shaped everything else. Back then, we didn’t call them money dates. But now?...
