A gentle nudge for your nervous system 🧠

Hey friend,

This morning, I didn’t wake up grounded.

I woke up buzzing, but not the good kind.

It was one of those days where my mind raced faster than my feet could catch up.
But I caught myself.

Instead of rushing into my workday, I walked over to my grounding mat.
I closed my eyes.
Breathed in. Counted to four.
Breathed out. Counted to four.

Just 60 seconds. That’s all it took to feel human again.

Here’s the thing:
🧠 When your brain is in a stress loop, your nervous system can’t tell the difference between a looming deadline and a bear charging at you.

But you can.

You have tools.
🌀 Meditation (even a minute helps)
🌀 Grounding (bare feet, slow breath, hand on heart)
🌀 Easy breathing patterns (like 4-4 or box breathing)

These are simple things.
But it can be hard in the moment.
So, please practice them as they are powerful tools to have in your toolbelt.

Try one next time your body says, “I can’t do this.”
Even in a bathroom stall at work, yep, I’ve been there.

💛 One more thing: I’m moving these emails over to Substack soon!
You’ll still get them in your inbox, but you’ll also have access to more resources, saved past issues, and the Burn Bright, Not Out ChatBots I’m quietly building in the background.

If you’d rather not come with me to Substack, feel free to unsubscribe, no hard feelings and no spam, ever.

With presence,
Sybil

PS: If you or someone you know wants to Burn Brighter by taking control of their money, pass on the Female Finance Collective community about page to them. You don’t know who might need this support right now.

Hey friend,This morning I noticed something different. The sun peeked through earlier. The birds were louder.Even my to-do list looked less intimidating in the light of May and vacation looming. Summer is slowly arriving, and it’s asking us to shift. Not quit. Not power down.Just lean in a little more gently. This season, I’m working with this rhythm:☀️ Savoring what I already have☀️ Spending 10 minutes a day on my relationships—quick texts, longer hugs☀️ Prioritizing walks and being outside...

Welcome back, We’ve all been there. You swipe the card for something small like a $12 pair of flip-flops and think, “No big deal.” But if it’s sitting on a high-interest credit card and only the minimum is being paid? Those flip-flops are going to end up costing you a whole lot more. In this week’s podcast episode, Jen, Meri-Li, and Sybil discuss something so many women in our community are struggling with right now: debt and how it affects not just our wallets but also our minds, our...

Hi, This week’s Tuesday tip is a little different. Instead of a strategy or checklist, we want to share the “why” behind everything we do here at the Female Finance Collective. That’s why we created this...
